Adventure Book Give Away!

We are excited to have a giveaway contest on Utah Valley Family Adventures! A new book Playdate with Salt Lake City and Utah's Wasatch Front was recently published. This awesome full-color book does exactly what we do-- suggests fun family adventures that are close to home. We have been given a copy of the book to preview, and our site is actually referenced in the appendix as a source for cool adventures!

The authors of the book, Emily Robbins and Meilani Kongaika, have graciously given us a copy of Playdate to give away. We will give the book away to one of you, our faithful readers. To enter the contest, simply leave a comment on this post that tells us your favorite adventure in the area (it can be one already featured on UVFA, or something we haven't written about before). We'll enter all your names into a drawing and have our five-year old pull out a name. We'll announce the winner next Friday night at 10:00 PM, so be sure to check back and see if you're the lucky winner.

Our little secret is books like these. We own several hiking books as well as two other books that feature things to do in Utah. We use them to find many of our adventures.

The great thing about Playdate is it is current, colorful, and well-organized. As soon as we got it, we spent almost an hour making a list of adventures to try that were listed in this book. We love how the book is divided into categories like hikes, museums, splash pads, etc. It makes it very easy to find a specific adventure. We also liked how each entry has a list of other adventures that are close by. That way you can plan a few activities that are in the same area. This will be an awesome resource for the adventuresome family!

(For our review of this book, we received a free copy for our own use, and a free copy to use give away.)

  4. Oh yay! What a cool book! This may not be in the area, but my favorite place to go around Utah is Moab. I love Arches--tons of fun hikes, big and small, with great rewards (arches!) along the way. Love it!
