Lehi Christmas Interfaith Celebration

We went to the Lehi Christmas Interfaith Celebration of the Birth of Jesus tonight.  It was located at the LDS Stake Center, 200 North Center St., in Lehi.  They had many Nativity scenes from around the world to view as well as a live Nativity outside.  The live Nativity had the animals that are typically seen in a nativity.  The neat thing was they had a live camel.  The kids could pet the sheep, donkeys, and the camel.  My boys loved touching the animals, and they even had a chance to sit on the camel.  Inside the church, after viewing the Nativities, you could enjoy some Christmas music performed by different groups or head to the children's activity room and make a craft or color a picture.  We only stayed about 30 minutes, but it was so close to home and free, that it was worth it.  Lehi City does this celebration every year.  So if you missed it this year, make sure to watch for it next year.  It was a fun way for Lehi Residents to kick off the holiday season.  I am sure that other cities have similar celebrations because I attended one when I was at BYU in Provo.  So check your cities to see what is available.

One funny moment from my 4 year-old.  He sat on the camel and afterward I asked him if he liked it.  He said, "Yes."  I then asked, "What did it feel like?"  He looked at me and said, "It felt like sitting on a camel."  Well, obviously mom!

  1. Duh, obviously it felt like sitting on a camel. That is really fun, we will have to put that on our list for next year. Do you think they would let me sit on the camel?
