Story Time

I caught this picture of my boys reading library books
when they were 10 months and 3 1/2. They
love going to the library and reading!
As I was sitting in the Lehi Library watching my two boys listen intently to a story we have at our house, (but for some reason it is better when they hear it at story time) I thought about all those people who don't take advantage of story time. Most libraries offer story time for free, and it is such a great way to help your child develop a love for reading. Our library also does songs and movement activities which I love because it is hard for 2-4 year olds to sit still for 30 minutes. If you are not currently attending a story time at your library, I highly recommend it. I did a little bit of research on the some of the local libraries here in Utah County, but if you live somewhere else just look up your library online or give them a call.

Story Times
Lehi Library: M-TH 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30
Provo Library: This library has different times for all ages (0-12 mo., 1-2, and 3-5). Check their website.
Orem Library: TWTH at 10:30, or Lap Time for the younger crowd at 10:00 AM.
Saratoga Springs: Tues at 10:00 and 10:45 am.
Eagle Mountain: Th at 11:00 am. or 1:30 pm.
Highland: This library has a bunch of different story times, even one for the family in the evening. Check their website for times (you must register for certain times).
Pleasant Grove: TWTH @ 10:00, 11:00 ,or 1:00 --you have to register with a current library card to attend at Pleasant Grove, but it is still free. They also have a Wee Read for 18 mo.--3 years.
Springville: T or F @ 10:30 for 3--5 or 11:30 for 1--3. They also have a music and movement class and a baby lap time.

American Fork: This library charges for their story times because they do a craft each week. I have heard they are really fun and amazing, but I have a hard time handing over the $10 for non-residents. If you live in AF it is only $5.

  1. Yeah, we used to go to AF until they raised their prices. They were amazing! The best of all the ones in the valley, in my opinion. But 10 bucks is a little steep so we don't go there anymore. LOVED them!
