Children's Discovery Garden @ Thanksgiving Point

Our latest adventure was to Thanksgiving Point Children's Discovery Garden. We have several posts about Thanksgiving Point, including the Gardens, the Farm, the Christmas Lights, and the Dinosaur Museum. Since our last trip to the Discovery Garden, things have changed. Here's the new info:

The first thing you see when you walk into the garden is a large statue of Noah and his ark. It shoots water and has a small pool around it. There are also some fountains that shoot to the side. This was the biggest hit for my boys even though it was October and pretty chilly. We have been here in the summer and there are usually lots of children in swimsuits cooling off in the fountain.

Farther down the garden trail are a few bear caves with tunnels to crawl through and waterfalls to walk behind. There is a small maze, a pond with fish to feed, and some rocks to climb on. There is also a new climbing toy that reminded us a lot of the pyramid at Neptune Park.

There were a ton of fish. I think they were hoping we had a quarter for food.

The northern section of the garden is for children to explore. There is an obstacle course, a sandbox, some tables to play tic-tac-toe, and a small stream to race boats down. We spent a lot of time here, too. The boys liked to run from each section and see what new activity there was to try. I like the idea that the boys could explore lots of different activities.

My boys enjoyed the Discovery Garden. When I asked them their favorite part, they said, "Everything!" They wanted to go back with dad. Luckily we have an annual pass to Thanksgiving Point, so we will return soon For those of you without passes, it costs $6/adult and $4/child (3-12). If you visit the Thanksgiving Point Gardens, admission to the Children's Discovery Garden is included. Everything is stroller friendly, but this garden is only open April-October.
