If you're children are anything like mine, you are always looking for places to go or things to do in the winter. It's hard to be cooped up in your house all winter long. Here are a few ideas that are free or don't cost much for moms like me.
Living Planet Aquarium: November 26 is the Aquarium's free day. The Living Planet Aquarium is staying open through the winter. They had originally planned to close in November, but they won't close until September 2013 when they begin moving to their new building. Read about our visits to the aquarium here.
Hogle Zoo |
Hogle Zoo: During the winter months (Nov-Feb) the last Wednesday of the month you can get in for free. Make sure to bundle up before you head to the zoo and see the new Rocky Shores exhibit. You can read our review of the new exhibit here.
Tracy Aviary: Every Wednesday, from November through March, you can get in to the Aviary for $1. The nice thing about Winter Wednesday is that they also have story time that day. "Book and Bird" is at 11:00 and you hear a story and meet one of the birds. More info here.
Clark Planetarium |
Clark Planetarium: This museum is free all year, but we spend a lot of time here in the winter because it is inside. Here is our review.
BYU Museum of Paleontology: Also free all year, but I don't usually go unless it's cold outside. Here is more info about this small dinosaur museum.
