Orem Owlz

We love baseball! And who doesn't--it's the American pastime! Last night we went to the Orem Owlz opener down at UVU for our family night. We decided to head down because they were also doing fireworks at the end of the game. Although my children are generally terrified of fireworks, I thought they might be a little braver this year. As you can see, they didn't cry, but they didn't like the loud noise.

 Enjoying the fireworks! :)
"Wowed" by the fireworks!
I wanted to include this adventure because baseball games are usually inexpensive (unless you travel to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox). But here in Utah, we have minor league teams and you can see the Owlz for $4/adult and $2/child. You sit on the grass for these cheapest tickets, but some people prefer this because it is easier to allow the kids to run around. We have "The Pass of All Passes" and we get in free to all Owlz games--free to sit on the grass. Last night we decided to upgrade and sit in the seats. We had a blast! Our oldest knows everything about baseball and sits perfectly still and watches everything that happens. Our youngest is a little more mobile, but even he likes to cheer and he loves the Owlz mascots. The Owlz won, which always makes attending a game more fun, and the fireworks show was great. The kids were also allowed to run the bases at the end of the game--another promotion. The boys headed down with their dad, high-fived the Owl, and ran around the bases.

Attending a baseball game is always more fun than watching it on TV because there are chances to win prizes, lots of music, and excitement in the air. You can learn more about the Owlz at their website--it lists all the promotions, so you can choose which game you want to attend. I have never seen the Salt Lake Bees, but I am sure they are fun to watch, too! So take a night this summer and go enjoy a baseball game.

Ready to play baseball.

Running the bases with 8 million other children!
